Brass cable glands
The brass cable glands are ideally suited to complement the BOXEXPERT metal enclosures. For the Treva enclosure series as well as for theAlster aluminium industrial enclosures, the brass variant offers an optimal possibility to lead the existing cables out of the enclosure with a protection class of IP68. In addition to the high-quality appearance, the cable glands offer maximum flexibility in the selection for your application due to the modular design. Among other things, a choice can be made between different sealing inserts, such as for railway applications in accordance with EN 45545, in the food industry or in high-temperature environments. The compression nut can be selected flexibly, whether a conduit fitting, a very flat design solution or, for example, a trumpet-shaped compression nut for greater freedom of movement of the cable. Even the bottom part can be chosen according to your wish. BOXEXPERT offers two different clamping technologies:
Lamella technology
With the lamella technology, the pressure nut presses the threaded lamellae underneath onto the sealing insert, which in turn fixes and seals the cable. The large clamping range in the lamella technology is especially suitable for flexible and safe daily use. An excellent strain relief as well as a protection class of IP68 are fulfilled. The lamella technique is mostly used in static applications where there is no external load on the cable.
Compression Technique
The compression technique is characterised by optimum clamping behaviour. Here, the sealing insert encloses the cable and is pressed around the cable by tightening the pressure nut. The design of the sealing insert enables a high level of protection against torsion and optimum sealing with protection class IP68. In order to also be able to use an extended clamping range, two- or three-piece sealing inserts are available, depending on the screw connection size. The compression technique is preferably used for dynamic applications, e.g. railway applications.
