WATERPROOF EMPTY HOUSING IP65 INDOOR & OUTDOOR

When functionality is important, but appearance is also paramount, there is no getting around the black plastic enclosures of the Elbe series. The enclosure impresses with the high-quality look of the smooth ABS surface in slate gray (similar to RAL 7015). The empty enclosures from BOXEXPERT are therefore ideally suited as universal enclosures for the installation of control elements, displays, membrane keyboards, connectors, switches and pushbuttons, where the user has a clear view of the enclosure.

All enclosures in the Elbe series have a foamed-in seal made of low-wear polyurethane. Due to the material properties, the seal is resistant to weathering and aging. Visually almost too good for outdoor use, the waterproof plastic housing nevertheless offers a protection rating of IP65 and can be used in harsher environments without any problems and protects the installed electronic components in the wall-mounted housing against water jets from all directions. The robust and halogen-free plastic is also UV-resistant and weatherproof. Durability and reliability are guaranteed even under harsh environmental conditions and extreme temperatures between -20°C to +65°C.

SELF-FORMING SCREWS

The lower the enclosure weight is to be and the thinner the enclosure wall is as a result, the more difficult it is to fasten screws in the enclosure without damaging the enclosure or negatively influencing the protection class. The Elbe enclosure has several mounting domes inside the enclosure for mounting electronic components such as PCBs or terminals. As a supplement, the accessories supplied include self-forming screws that enable secure installation of the fixtures. BOXEXPERT offers various accessories such as cable glands or pressure compensation elements (BKDMKM12) made of black polyamide to match the Elbe series.

During the design phase of the Elbe series, we placed particular emphasis on a high-quality appearance. For example, the lid of the housing is completely flat and without recesses in order to reinforce the high-quality high-gloss appearance and to allow full-surface printing or installations.

The bag shown represents the standard scope of delivery of the accessories of the Elbe series. The cover screws are made of stainless steel and are designed to be self-tapping. In addition to the cover screws, fastening screws for mounting plates or mounting rails are also included, the length of which is exactly matched to the existing fastening domes inside.

All Elbe series enclosures are designed with a variety of mounting domes on the bottom of the enclosure. The high number of fastening possibilities results in an optimal use of space in the interior. Mounting plates, mounting rails or individual boards or brackets can be attached at various positions. The exact dimensions and distances of the mounting domes can be found in the individual data sheets of the products.

The seal of the Elbe series of enclosures was also deliberately designed in black and blends almost invisibly into the enclosure. It enables a high protection class of IP65 and thus makes the housing suitable for outdoor applications without exceptions. The fixing points of the cover screws were deliberately left out of the sealing area in order to ensure a constantly high degree of protection.

High quality optics
It’s food for the eye. If housings are used as operating housings, for example, or if a membrane keypad or operating buttons are fitted, the visual appearance of the housing plays an overriding role. The more present and obvious the installation or use of the enclosure is, the more convincing the enclosure’s appearance can be for the system manufacturer. The BOXEXPERT enclosures of the Elbe series impress with their smooth ABS surface in slate grey. This gives the case its high-quality and unusual design.
Self-forming screws
If threads are cut, chips usually form, which in turn can remain unnoticed in the housing and over time can cause a short circuit in the installed electrics. ABS as a material can prevent this when attaching electronic components. In order to also prevent chip formation, self-forming screws are part of the scope of delivery. This allows for easy and safe mounting of additional components without the need for any tools other than the screwdriver.
