| EMC | Stands for electromagnetic compatibility and describes the ability of a technical device not to be influenced by electrical or electromagnetic effects of other devices | 
| EPDM | Ethylene-propylene-diene rubber: a rubber-elastic material which is used, inter alia, for the manufacture of BOXEXPERT cable glands | 
| Fleet | Plastic control cabinet from BOXEXPERT, named after natural water courses in Hamburg and Northern Germany | 
| Hanse | Junction box by BOXEXPERT, named after a union of North German merchants between the middle of the 12th century and the middle of the 17th century | 
| IECEx | Certification regarding explosion protection of the International Electronical Commission IEC | 
| IK | Describes the resistance of enclosures to mechanical stresses, in particular shocks; the IK code is standardized according to IEC 62262. | 
| INOX | after the French inoxydable, stands for the group of corrosion and acid resistant steel grades, is used by BOXEXPERT in connection with the stainless steel enclosures of the Treva series | 
| IP protection | describes the suitability of electrical equipment for various environmental conditions, in particular protection against contact, dust and water. |

| Michel | Industrial enclosures from BOXEXPERT with metric embossing, named after the famous main church of St. Michaelis in Hamburg | 
| PA | Polyamide: a plastic that forms the basis of various BOXEXPERT cable glands |

| Perle | a series of control cabinets from BOXEXPERT, named after the jewel derived from nature, is often mentioned in connection with the city of Hamburg |

| Impact resistance | Describes the resistance of enclosures to external impact loads, defined by the IK shock resistance of an enclosure. | 
| Protection class | describes the suitability of equipment against external environmental influences and the protection against contact from the outside | 
| SEV | Swiss Electrotechnical Association, today: Electrosuisse, Association for Electrical, Energy and Information Technology, carries out standardization and testing in electrical engineering for the Swiss market. | 
| St. Pauli | Industrial enclosure series by BOXEXPERT made of ABS, named after one of the most famous districts in Hamburg | 
| TPE | Thermoplastic elastomers: a material with rubber-like properties that can be thermoplastically deformed and is used as the basis for various housing seals. | 
| Treva | Sheet steel control cabinets from BOXEXPERT, named after an original settlement on the Alster, which is considered the origin of the later city of Hamburg |
