In plant technology and mechanical engineering, empty housings usually have to withstand considerable external influences. Despite dust development, moisture and external stress, the functionality of the electronics installed in the universal housing, such as buttons, switches, membrane keyboards and cable connections, must not be impaired. With the Alster series, BOXEXPERT supplies robust and waterproof enclosures made of aluminum, for the protection and cabling of electronics in various fields of application. In addition to the external protection of electronic components, the waterproof empty enclosure is optimally suited for the use of EMC-critical applications due to the material composition (AlSi 12, according to DIN EN 1706). In combination with special EMC cable glands, comprehensive basic protection for electromagnetic compatibility is achieved. A special EMC coating on the empty aluminum housing allows unwanted interference currents to be dissipated via the housing wall. Especially in automation technology, such effects play an overriding role in the selection of enclosures. Alster aluminum housings are manufactured using the die-casting process, which results in high process stability and thus the lowest possible manufacturing tolerances.

BOXEXPERT die-cast aluminum enclosures have high corrosion and weather resistance. The additional powder coating ensures insensitivity to UV radiation, making the housing suitable for outdoor use. The universal housing, which is available in the protection classes IP66, IP67 and IP68, shows itself as a waterproof housing robust against moisture, oils and alkalis and protects the electronics even under harsh environmental conditions and extreme temperatures. With a shock resistance rating of IK09, the aluminum housing is a robust all-purpose housing for machine and plant engineering.

In addition to the robust housing wall, the housing seal of the BOXEXPERT aluminum housings provides further protection against the ingress of dust and liquids. The seal is made of low-wear polyurethane. The foamed-in PUR seal is characterized by high resistance to weathering and aging and thus optimally complements the properties of the enclosure. Based on the tongue-and-groove principle between the seal and the housing cover, the internals are reliably protected against the ingress of dust and moisture, achieving a protection rating of at least IP66.

Integrated threaded holes in the empty housing enable uncomplicated mounting of various components. Top-hat rails and mounting plates can be mounted without additional processing of the housing. Due to its attractive appearance, the Alster aluminum enclosure can also be used as an operating enclosure. It is ideally suited for smaller installations, as well as electromechanical assemblies and operating elements such as pushbuttons and membrane keyboards. Special grounding screws are also part of the accessories supplied.
